Founder & CEO
James McAllan is the Founder and CEO of Curia. With an extensive background in software development and 20 years of business management experience, he previously founded Crowd Convergence, a bespoke software development firm creating solutions for corporate and sporting bodies. James’ experience in technology consulting and business processes, along with his dedication to exploring cutting-edge tech and its intersection with business applications, highlights his role as a leader focused on innovation and growth. A lover of technology,  James continuously seeks to combine and adapt new technologies into creative solutions.

At Curia, James spearheads the development of industry-leading SaaS solutions for the conveyancing and legal sectors. His team leverages state-of-the-art developments in AI and Machine Learning to optimise operations, improve productivity, and deliver unparalleled value to clients. James’ unwavering dedication to innovation and high standards drives Curia’s growth and cements its position at the cutting edge of the industry.

Thomas Chung

Lead Developer

Thomas Chung is the Lead Developer at Curia with a rich background in web development spanning over 15 years. His proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, Python, and Node.js enables him to effectively lead and manage diverse development teams. Thomas is committed to exploring the latest tools and continuous learning for himself and his team. He is skilled in strategic planning, resource management, and integrating cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the smooth maintenance of legacy systems and the successful launch of innovative greenfield projects. As a key leader at Curia, Thomas is dedicated to ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software projects.

Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee at Curia is a specialised consultative group formed to provide expert guidance for Management during the company's rapid growth. Comprising industry professionals with significant expertise, particularly in the legal and conveyancing sectors, the committee aids Curia’s Directors by offering strategic insights and informed perspectives on challenges and opportunities, enhancing long-term success and resilience.

Howard Wigham

Chairman
Howard Wigham is the Chair of Yume, a Non-Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact Network Australia (UNGCNA), and the Executive Director of Navigate Business Advisory, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with business strategy and coaching services.   

With a corporate career spanning over 30 years, he has held senior roles in chemicals, technology, and logistics. Howard spent 14 years with Brambles, where he was Managing Director of Chep UK & Ireland, President of Recall Australasia, and President of Chep Asia-Pacific. He has lived in Australia, the UK, and Germany, working extensively across Asia, Europe, and North America. A supporter of sustainability causes, he also invests in early-stage companies with social and environmental missions. Howard holds an honours degree in Chemistry and German from Aston University, completed management programs at London Business School and INSEAD, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David Winning

David Winning is the Founder of Your Move Conveyancing. He is a seasoned Licensed Conveyancer in NSW having commenced his career in 2009. David founded YMC in 2013 as a ‘one man band’ and has grown the organisation to over 20 staff currently assisting 2,200 buyers and sellers annually with their conveyancing needs. David has a keen interest in developing and adopting new technologies to assist his staff in providing efficient and accurate services to their clients. YMC have implemented sharp workflows and practice management systems which have significantly improved productivity which has enabled them to be recognised as NSW’s leading conveyancing service provider. David and YMC were early adopters of Curia Review seeing the value of having a powerful tool in this space which fits seamlessly within their workflows and overall tech stack.

James Barritt

Member

James Barritt is a dynamic legal professional and Director at K2 Law, renowned for his expertise in Corporate and Commercial Law and Intellectual Property. With a strong background in IT, having been the youngest to complete the CompTIA course, he has been an entrepreneur since age 14, buying and selling businesses even before becoming a lawyer. His legal career includes commercialising IT, scaling up start-ups, and navigating exit events for founders through large-scale cross-border M&A transactions. James has served as a director of Zarraffa’s Coffee and is currently on their Advisory Board, as well as being an active member of the Synergy Boards forum. James leverages his extensive experience to provide strategic insights and guidance on the Curia Advisory Board.
